# International Payments - Giropay

> Giropay is a popular real-time bank transfer payment method that enables customers to make payments directly from their bank accounts. It integrates with more than 1,500 German banks.

## Advantages

* **No card? No problem!**

  Customers who do not have access to cards or do not want to use them for online transactions can use Giropay to pay through their bank accounts.
* **No chargeback**

  Avoid unnecessary chargebacks with an authorised bank transfer solution.
* **Instant confirmation**

  Receive instant payment confirmation of whether the payment was successful. You will receive a notification for a small number of payments to confirm whether the payment was successful.
* **Higher transaction amount**

  We support payments up to \$10,000.
* **Currency Conversion**

  Customers can initiate payments in their native currency and payments will be settled in your Indian bank account. Razorpay's [pay in native currency](/payments/payment-methods/cards/dynamic-currency-conversion) feature will ensure that your German customer is shown the right currency.

## How it Works

    After the payment method is enabled for your Razorpay account, it will appear automatically on Checkout without additional integration.

    Your customer opens Razorpay Checkout and selects Giropay as the payment method.

    Razorpay redirects the customer to a Giropay-hosted payment page with a list of available banks in their country.

  <Step title="Step 4">
    The customer chooses the bank and logs into the online bank account.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step 5">
    The customer selects the account to make payment and completes the additional factor of authentication (OTP verification).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step 6">
    The customer completes the payment and is redirected to your website or app.

## Pricing

Giropay payments are charged at 3.0%.

## Refunds and Settlements

* You can refund customer payments made using Giropay by following the usual [refunds](/payments/refunds) process.

* Giropay payments take T+14 days to get settled to your Razorpay account.
