# About QR Codes

> QR Codes are two-dimensional barcodes that can accommodate payment details such as business name, contact, destination bank details and more.

## About Razorpay QR Codes

Use Razorpay QR Codes to receive UPI payments from your customers. Create QR Codes from the Dashboard or using our APIs and share them with your customers. Customers can scan these codes and make payments.

### Advantages

* **Instant Creation**: Generate QR Codes in **real-time** via the Dashboard and APIs.
* **Secure Payments**: QR Code payment is as secure as a UPI payment, as your bank details are not exposed to a third party.

## Get Started

Log in to the Dashboard and click **QR Codes**. [Set up your Razorpay account](/payments/set-up) if you do not have one already.

## Prerequisites

* Raise a request through a Point of Contact (POC) or the Dashboard to enable QR Codes for your account.
* Do check the [Glossary](/payments/qr-codes/glossary) to understand the terminologies.
